Last week, our District received the honor of being selected to attend the School CIO Summit in Silicon Valley, California.  This summit focuses on technology transformation in the K-12 education setting.  Comprised of a combination of keynote speakers, breakout sessions and small working groups, the summit showcased efforts from the nation's top 50-60 school districts to infuse technology into the curriculum in order to enhance education.  While it was an extreme honor to attend this summit, it was also extremely humble to see some of the amazing things occurring throughout the United States.  From tablet deployments in Georgia to online learning in Pennsylvania, lots of exciting things are possible for school children thanks to modern technology. Maker spaces, a new innovative idea in encouraging Design thinking, were studied and I found these simple ideas to be particularly intriguing.  A field trip to Autodesk in the San Francisco Bay further piqued my curiosity in pursuing this method of engaged learning for our students.  I'm excited to announce that NH-M signed up to be a pilot school for Project Ignite! and hopefully this will result in some exciting opportunities for our students to "tinker" with higher level thinking skills! All in all, it was an excellent summit, and the accolades made to our school district from the staff at Tech & Learning assured me that NH-M is doing an outstanding job providing a top-notch 21st century education to all of our students!!  It feels great to know that together we are #makingadifference
