This is a reminder to all parents that today is a 1:30 dismissal. If you are picking up your student, please line up behind the bus. All students who will be picked up will be dismissed individually directly to cars as they pull to the front entrance following bus departure. Thank you for understanding changes to protocols in advance as we increase our student safety efforts for school departure.

Should you have had any transporation or other concerns today, please communicate with us in the office at 217-445-2421 or talk to your child's driver. We would like to resolve any concerns as quickly as possible for you and your student. It is our aim to provide the best service to our students and families that we possibly can.

Open House and supply drop off is happening now! Come meet your child's teacher(s)! We can't wait to see you all!

Good afternoon Students and Parents!

The start of the school year is just around the corner, and WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU!!!!!!!

To help with this first week, here are a few reminders:

1 - The first day with students is this Friday, August 14th. This is a 1:30 dismissal.

2 - Open House is Thursday, August 13th from 4-6 pm. This is a time to meet your child's teacher(s), and to drop off supplies.

3 - A special 5th grade and New students to the JH orientation will be held on Thursday, August 13th from 6-6:30 pm in Mrs. Allen's room following Open House. If you or your student has concerns about the newness of JH, this session is for you!

4 - Drop off begins at 7:45 a.m. If for some reason you need to come into the building at drop off (or pick up), please park in the designated parking area, and do not block buses or the drop off/pick up line. Please do not drop students prior to 7:45 a.m. No staff will be on duty prior to drop off to supervise your student.

5 - Pick up will be a little different this year -- for the safety of our students, pick up students will be dismissed directly to cars as they pull up to the main entrance/exit following the bus departure. This avoids all safety risks for students and entrance/exit concerns with vehicles. We ask that parents who are picking up students line up BEHIND the BUS. Pick up begins as soon as the bus departs shortly after 3:15 pm.

6 - Bus times are the same as last year with all location stops. Please be patient with us in the first few weeks as we work out any timing issues and allow an approximate 10 minute difference in pick up times during this window of time. If you are a new parent/student to the district and your student rides the bus, you should have gotten a call from your child's bus driver to share pick up/drop off information. If you have any questions or did not receive a call, call us!

7 - If you have any questions or concerns about anything, please contact the office. We are here to best serve our students and families. No question or concern should go unanswered or unaddressed. Just call us at 217-445-2421. Our friendly and helpful office staff are here for you!
