Dear Parents and Guardians,
Today, our school implemented a Secure action under the Standard Response Protocol (SRP). This was done out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
During a Secure, all students and staff remain inside the building, and exterior doors are locked. Classes and activities continue as usual inside the school. This procedure allows us to maintain a normal learning environment while limiting access from outside until we determine that there is no safety concern.
The Secure was initiated after we received information from Logan County law enforcement about a situation in the community that was unrelated to our school but required precautionary measures. At no time were students or staff in danger, and the protocol was lifted once it was determined to be safe to do so.
We understand that situations like this can cause concern, and we want you to know that the safety of our students is our top priority. Our staff and students train regularly in the Standard Response Protocol to ensure we are prepared for a variety of situations.
For your reference, a copy of this letter will come home with your child, and we have attached a document from the "I Love U Guys" Foundation that explains the Standard Response Protocol and the actions associated with it.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the district office.
Sincerely,
Candi Shaver
Superintendent
New Holland Middletown School District

Maddison Metelko will be our new cheer coach for the 2025-2026 season, and she is excited to get started! Maddison would like to have practice on August 26th and 27th from 5:30 until 6:45 at CCS for anyone interested. Boys basketball is right around the corner and the girls need to be ready for the season! Maddison will have a more detailed schedule and contact information at the first practice. Go Crusaders!

This is a reminder message to parents that today is a 1:30 dismissal for our first day. If you are picking up your student, pick up is at the West entrance, and you may park in the West parking lot in front of the baseball field if you are waiting on your child.
If you are driving, enter through the west entry, and exit through the east exit. Signs are posted as enter and exit only.
For the safety of all of our students and families, please wait for the bus to load and exit the parking area if it is already there prior to driving out the east exit. The stop arm will be out as students load indicating that cars should stop and wait behind the bus.

Thanks so much to all of our students and families for coming in this evening to drop off supplies and meet the teachers! It was great to see everyone! We'll see you all back for the first day of school tomorrow 8/13/25. Supervision begins at 7:45, so students may be dropped off at 7:45 or after! See you then!
