Music, Jillian Meszar

Jillian Meszar

Hello! My name is Jillian and I am the Music Instructor here at New Holland-Middletown Elementary School District as of Fall 2019! Originally from Massachusetts, I received my bachelors degree in music education from the University of New Hampshire this spring, and have been eager to move out to the Midwest ever since! I have worked in and volunteered with a large variety of music classrooms, and this is my first year teaching professionally (I couldn't be more excited!) I specialized in playing the double bass through my Undergraduate degree, but enjoy playing violin, guitar and piano in my free time.

This school year, as COVID-19 continues into the fall, I will be redirecting my focus with my students as a whole to understanding music theory, music appreciation and creative arts. As singing and instrument playing are not the safest due to the spread of COVID-19, I will still be filling student's days with music through listening, writing and reading! Coronavirus can't stop this teacher!

Along with my primary focus in music education, I will also be incorporating various creative arts mediums, such as drama and visual arts into the school day. I have attached various state standards regarding the fine arts in the "links" section of my website!

The best way to contact me is via email, [email protected] , if we are having school in person I can be reached via my classroom phone, or can set up a phone meeting if we are remote! Do not hesitate to reach out at any point during the school year, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
