Our Fall Fun Festival was once again a success this year much to the thanks of all of our volunteers! A huge thanks is owed to Tiffany Carter for the donation of her time for the glitter tatoos and tinsel as well as the Merriman Family for the giant slide and donation of their time. And, as always, an ongoing thanks is owed to our staff for their tireless efforts. A good time was had by all!

Cheer practices are going to regularly be on Monday, Tuesday and Friday at CCS from 3:30-5:00 through the start of boys basketball season.
As the new school year begins, Senator Turner wants to thank our teachers, school staff, and administrators for their dedication to our students and communities.
She would also like to invite students and families to join her on Saturday, September 6, for a FREE Kids Fishing Derby at Weldon Springs State Park! The Illinois Department of Natural Resources will provide bait and fishing poles, or students may bring their own rod and reel.
The Kids Fishing Derby will take place at Weldon Springs State Park, 4734 Weldon Springs Rd., Clinton, IL, from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Senator Turner will provide snacks, drinks, and prizes for participants. Parents must accompany their children.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Today, our school implemented a Secure action under the Standard Response Protocol (SRP). This was done out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
During a Secure, all students and staff remain inside the building, and exterior doors are locked. Classes and activities continue as usual inside the school. This procedure allows us to maintain a normal learning environment while limiting access from outside until we determine that there is no safety concern.
The Secure was initiated after we received information from Logan County law enforcement about a situation in the community that was unrelated to our school but required precautionary measures. At no time were students or staff in danger, and the protocol was lifted once it was determined to be safe to do so.
We understand that situations like this can cause concern, and we want you to know that the safety of our students is our top priority. Our staff and students train regularly in the Standard Response Protocol to ensure we are prepared for a variety of situations.
For your reference, a copy of this letter will come home with your child, and we have attached a document from the "I Love U Guys" Foundation that explains the Standard Response Protocol and the actions associated with it.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the district office.
Sincerely,
Candi Shaver
Superintendent
New Holland Middletown School District
