Good luck to our boys as they compete in the WLB tournament next week! This will mark the end of the season. Remember, we will collect uniforms after the second game on Saturday so please make sure to bring both uniforms and a change of clothes. Thank you. Go Crusaders!

Tuesday 2/17- Game vs. Decatur @ CCS 6:00 (no 5th/6th grade game)
Wednesday 2/18- Game @ St. Agnes @ Springfield SHG East Campus (1200 W. Washington, Springfield); 5th/6th grade game at 5:00
Thursday 2/19- Game vs. LJHS @ CCS 8th Grade Night Potluck in the cafeteria 4:30; no 5th/6th grade game; 7th grade game at 6:00; 8th graders and their parents will be recognized before the 8th grade game
Friday 2/20- practice 3:30-5:00

NHM hosted the Olympics today. With events in curling, speed skating, discs, Shotput , and skiing.
This week 3rd and 4th grade have been learning about the Olympics. Today we created a bobsled and tested them on a course.
Scholastic Bowl Information for this Week:
We have our first match at 4pm , February 10 at CEL. Plan to be in the CEL Commons by 3:45pm. We will only have one match, which will last about one hour. Students must check out with coaches prior to leaving. Please wear your new blue scholastic bowl shirt with any pants you wish to wear. We will practice on Thursday in Mr. B's room from 3-4pm.

Today 3rd and 4th grade participated in a zoom meeting with Rise called We built a Zoo. Students learned about what it takes to build an exhibit for an animal and then viewed the leopard exhibit at the zoo.

6th Grade Tournament Information!
Calling all bowlers! The Crusader bowling season is upon us! Any boy or girl in 5th-8th grades from CCS, NHM, Zion MP, Zion Lincoln, or 6-8th grader from LJHS is welcome to join the bowling team.
Important dates to know:
February 3- first practice at Logan Lanes from 4-5:30
February 9- mandatory parent meeting at CCS at 5:00

Track and Field season is just around the corner! This year we will be co-oping with Greenview. A sign up sheet is in the office, and all interested students should sign up if they are interested no later than Thursday, February 5th. Information on the sign up will be sent to coaches at Greenview on Friday, February 6th.
Unless otherwise indicated, practices will begin on March 16th at 3:05 p.m. right after school. NH-M will provide transportation to practice.

The 5th Grade STEM- Embryology class identified the parts of an egg today! Chalazae, germ spot, membranes, air cells, albumen, yolks, and shells!

Volleyball Notes for the Week

New Holland-Middletown Elementary School District #88 will be closed tomorrow, Monday January 26, 2026. Our 100th day activities will continue on Tuesday 1/27/26. If you are scheduled to bring supplies, please bring them in on Tuesday! Stay warm!

Tyler Conklen
The Middle School student of the month is Tyler Conklen. Tyler is a student that demonstrates both determination and focus inside the classroom and out on the court, along with showing creativity and care for others. Tyler is always willing to assist others and make sure they are on task. He energetically participates in class discussions and activities. We are proud to call Tyler Conklen a New Holland-Middletown Mustang!
Sophia Peddicord
The elementary student of the month is Sophia Peddicord. She is a great example to classmates and loves to help out. She always tries to do the right thing. She is respectful and kind. She has a great work ethic and exudes confidence. We are proud to call Sophia Peddicord a New Holland - Middletown Mustang!
Due to extreme temperatures and windchill factors, NH-M will be closed tomorrow, Friday January 23, 2026.
