Some times, algebra can be tricky. Especially when it is solving for variables and remembering the order of operations. But, just because it is difficult doesn't mean that we give up!

Kindergarten was having fun learning about shadows. We went outside to see our shadows and notice where they were and where the sun was.

3rd grade enjoyed the weather with a game of Charlie over the ocean. They learned the game in music class.

Message from Mrs. Fuiten:
Just a reminder- pictures will be this Thursday at 4:00 before the game. Please be dressed and ready to at that time to expedite the picture process.
Also, there are a few conflicts with concession workers this week. If you are not scheduled to work in concessions this year and are able to help out tonight or Thursday, it would be appreciated.

Kindergarten is having fun with some Groundhog Day activities.

New Holland-Middletown Elementary students will be participating in State Senator Sally Turner's Valentines for Seniors project. Students will be working on valentines next week, but parents can feel free to send any cards made at home as well! We look forward to seeing what students make for the seniors in our community! All completed cards may be delivered to Ms. Pitts in the elementary.

I am sending our weekly email out a day early this week because there is a change to the schedule next Monday so I wanted to give plenty of notice. First of all, attached is the February Calendar. Please note, the Metcalf game is rescheduled to February 11. The other big change is to Monday. WLB boys are playing in a sectional basketball game on Monday at 6:30. The 7th grade WLB girls wanted to go support their team so we are going to bump up game times a little bit. The 7th grade game will be at 5:00 and the 8th grade game will follow.
Monday, February 3- Game vs WLB at CCS. 7th grade game at 5:00 and 8th grade game will follow. No RED game.
Tuesday, February 4- Game @ CEL. RED game at 4:00, 7th grade game at 5:00 and 8th grade game will follow.
Wednesday, February 5- practice 3:30-5:00
Thursday, February 6- Game vs. Normal Calvary at CCS. 7th grade game at 6:00 and 8th grade game will follow. No RED game. We will also have 8th grade recognition on this night. All 8th graders and their parents will be announced before the 8th grade game.
Friday, February 7- practice 3:30-5:00
Saturday, February 8- 6th Grade Edinburg Tournament

In 3rd grade STEM today we celebrated 101th day of school by building dog house. The idea comes from the Disney movie 101 Dalmatians.

Some times math is challenging and we need a break. 5 minute brain breaks help refocus our minds and energy.

There will be NO wrestling practice today, Friday January 31st.

100 days smarter in 3rd grade!

Congratulations to all of our 1st Semester Honors Students!

The 5th/6th grade boys' basketball season will start next week on Thursday, February 6th at Zion Mt. Pulaski. All games will be played at 6:00 unless otherwise noted on the schedule. Just like the regular season, unless it is a tournament, home games wear white and away games wear red. I’m assuming Coach Koester will want the players at the game about 30 minutes before. Thank you all for being so flexible.
Schedule: https://docs.google.com/document/d/11QnGOADOVxa04DuzXpLkjN_xTd-Hfxn8QcbY7jrSRoc/edit?usp=sharing

The 5th & 6th grade will practice on Sunday from 4:00-5:30 and on Tuesday from 5:00-6:30. More practices will be added as necessary throughout the month of February.

1st and 2nd grade, young and old, celebrated the 100th day of school today! Congratulations, kiddos! You are 100 days smarter!

100th Day activities in full swing: crown & glasses, build with 100 cubes, 100 shapes, 100 popsicle sticks, count to 100 by 10 cut & paste & paint dabs, make a necklace with 100 cheerios, write when I am 100 years old...
Apparently they will all be working at Walmart when they are 100.😂
